India Moon Mission Chandrayaan - 1 ISRO official Documentary 3/3
Chandrayaan-1 (Sanskrit: चंद्रयान-१, lit: moon-traveller, or moon vehicle pronunciation (help·info)) was India's first unmanned lunar probe. It was launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation in October 2008, and operated until August 2009. The mission included a lunar orbiter and an impactor. India launched the spacecraft by a modified version of the PSLV, PSLV C11 on 22 October 2008 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, about 80 km north of Chennai, at 06:22 IST (00:52 UTC). The mission was a major boost to India's space program, as India researched and developed its own technology in order to explore the Moon. The vehicle was successfully inserted into lunar orbit on 8 November 2008. On 14 November 2008, the Moon Impact Probe separated from the Chandrayaan orbiter at 20:06 and struck the south pole in a controlled manner, making India the fourth country to place its flag on the Moon. The probe impacted near Shackleton Crater at 20:31 ejecting underground soil that could be analysed for the presence of lunar water ice. The estimated cost for the project was Rs. 386 crore (US$ 90 million). The remote sensing lunar satellite had a mass of 1380 kilograms (3042 lb) at launch and 675 kilograms (1488 lb) in lunar orbit. It carried high resolution remote sensing equipment for visible, near infrared, and soft and hard X-ray frequencies. Over a two-year period, it was intended to survey the lunar surface to produce a ... |

Kennedy Space Center NASA - The Apollo 8 Program - part 1
NASA and the Apollo Program brought back many memories from times gone by. As a kid in the late 60's watching the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite and seeing all the news about the astronauts and the space program. It seemed so surreal, so distant and today I was in the same room where these missions were controlled from. |

Ancient Aliens The Mission - {s01e03} - Full Length season 1 episode 3
Next Episode: www.youtube.com If ancient aliens visited Earth, what was their mission, and is there evidence that points to when they will return? Ancient Sumerian tablets describe an alien race, known as the Anunnaki, who came to Earth to mine for gold. Egyptian hieroglyphs depict hybrid creatures that were part man, part animal. Mysterious crop circles and unexplainable crystal skulls are thought to contain messages that man has yet to decipher. Strange evidence may exist in multiple cultures throughout history suggesting that aliens came here to explore, excavate raw materials, experiment on human beings, and even for pure conquest. ₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪ Playlist: www.youtube.com (Contain all videos for season 1) History Channel -- Ancient Aliens -- The Mission (Season 1 Episode 3) May 4, 2010 www.history.com ₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪ ancient aliens season 1 episode 3 full ancient aliens s01e03 |

10 Feb 2012 at 10:42am Sometimes, the images from the Cassini Saturn probe are so cool it?s tempting just to post them and say, "Look at THAT!" See what I mean? [Click to gigantesenate.] But of course, I can?t just leave it at that. This image , taken on January 4, 2012, is a bit different than most. Sure, we see Saturn?s magnificent rings, nearly edge on from this perspective. And we?ve seen this icy moon Enceladus ... Read more...
8 Feb 2012 at 6:57am Sometimes, I like to think of a photon of light as a car on a road. As the road dips and curves, a car has to follow that path, dipping and curving as well. It might be weird to think of space as curving, but it does. Gravity from massive objects warps space, and a beam of light moving through that curved space curves along with it. This is the principle behind what?s called gravitational ... Read more...
