Spectroscopic observations by A. Pigulski (Astronomical Institute, Wroclaw University) confirmed the presence of broad hydrogen lines consistent with a nova. The object has been formally designated as V1213 Cen by E.Z. Kazarovets and N. Samus of the GCVS.

Observations of this nova are strongly encouraged. Please submit data promptly to the AAVSO using the name "V1213 CEN".
