Subscribe to the Astronomy Video Player

The Astronomy Video Player (AVP) plays astronomy-themed videos from a number of online sources such as YouTube, Google Video, the BBC, the International Astronomical Union and others. While these videos are are all in the public domain, what the player does is present them in an organized fashion and saves you the considerable time of wading through the archives for the quality programs.

AVP is a stand-alone piece of software that runs on your PC (not on Macs). You can make the player sit on top of all other windows while you're doing other work on your PC if you like. You can see what the player looks like below. Click the play button (you may need to click it twice) to run the demo video so you can see what it's like in action. [You'll be able to select the category and title and move the player around your screen in the actual AVP software]. All videos are streamed live from the internet so a fast (broadband) connection is recommended.
